If you are returning to the sport after a break (no current Archery GB membership) then please fill in a ‘Returning Archers’ form. You may be required to complete a competency assessment with one of our coaches and asked to undertake a beginners course or additional coaching if we deem this necessary. If coming from another club we might ask your previous club for a reference.

We meet 3 times a week at Petroc (Barnstaple College) During the winter months we shoot indoors in their sports hall. To find the hall enter the Petroc site and continue down the main road until the road splits.
The left hand turn will take you into the long stay car park and the right hand turn will take you into the Sports Hall car park. Please be aware that parking can be limited at times due to other clubs using the hall and the gym which is located next to the hall.

Taster Session
The Taster session is the best way to experience the sport without the commitment of multiple sessions that make up the Beginners Course.
The taster session covers the basic principles of archery and how to shoot your first arrows.
The taster session only costs £10 and if you decide to move on to the beginners course you will get a £10 discount to the cost.
Beginners Course
Before you join the archery club you will need to complete a beginners’ course,
which will introduce you to the sport and teach you how to shoot safely. These courses are incredibly popular
so please contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment - our Archery
GB qualified coaches and their invaluable helpers are all volunteers but we try
our best to cope with the demand!
To get on the waiting list please email beginners@barnstaplearcheryclub.org.uk
Improvers Course
Once you've been a member for a few months we recommend you looking at attending our improvers courses which take place on a Saturday. The course covers advanced techniques and theory and will help in identifiying areas to focus on to become a better archer.
The course is free to all Barnstaple Archery Club members.
